Regina Lee Riley Benedict went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at her home in Springfield, Illinois. She was 63 years old.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin of 31 years; her daughter, Dr. Amy Barnes (Jud); grandchildren, Jared, Shelby, Will and Erin of Kansas City, Missouri; her mother, Geneva Ewing of Counce; her siblings, Elaine Spears (Louis) of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Alan Riley (Rhonda) of Walls, Mississippi, Stacie Spurlin (Donnie) of Savannah, and Jon Riley (JoFairy) of Iuka, Mississippi; nephews, Jesse Spears of Olive Branch, Mississippi and Jim Riley of Iuka, Mississippi; nieces, Ashley Rogers (Jeremy) of Walls, Mississippi, Kalie Spurlin of Savannah and Margaret Claire of Iuka, Mississippi; very special aunts, Lila Ham of Iuka, Mississippi and Barbara Balcom of Corinth, Mississippi; and several close cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Brad and Margaret June Riley of Iuka, Mississippi; stepdad, Dwayne Ewing of Counce; and grandparents, Wilbur and Urah Riley of Iuka, Mississippi, and Herbert and Flora Walker of Iuka, Mississippi.
Regina had a passion for rescuing animals and finding them a good home.
A memorial will be at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, Mississippi, on Saturday, Jan. 20.
