Terry Swims (12-10-17) service 12-13-17

Terry Ralph Swims, of Savannah, was born Jan. 5, 1963, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the son of the late Ralph Vernon and Frances Fay Whitworth Swims.
He served our country proudly in the USMC from 1979 – 1983. After his military service, Terry went to work for Murray Guard Security. Then worked for Adamsville Police Department.
Mr. Swims departed this life on Sunday, Dec. 10, in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 54 years, 11 months, 5 days.
He is survived by two daughters, Lyndsi Austin and husband Brad of Morris Chapel, Leslie Conner and husband Colton of Savannah; two sisters, Tina Sheffield and husband Ron of Pinson, Tennessee, Carmeleta Cook and husband Mike of Parsons, Tennessee; a brother, Stacey Swims and wife Dana of Selmer; stepdaughter, Michelle Bradley of Biloxi, Mississippi; six grandchildren, Daniel, Nathan and Caleb Austin, Mollie and Evan Conner and Christan Terrell; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Swims was preceded in death by a grandchild, Blake Terrell.
Services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer with Brad Austin and Scott Whitley officiating. Burial followed in Milledgeville Cemetery.
