Andy Jack Irvin, 90, of Mountain View, Missouri, left this world for a better place on Tuesday, Dec. 5, while at Mountain View Healthcare, Mountain View, Missouri.
He was born Feb. 26, 1927, in Savannah to Lige Daniel and Ida Beatrice Franks Irvin. He was united in marriage to Tera Shelby, April 20, 1945, and the couple had 71 blessed years together. Three sons were born to this union, David, Bob and John.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife Tera; one brother, Walter Irvin; and one sister, Ruie Reynolds.
He is survived by three sons, David Irvin and wife Bonnie of Crossville, Tennessee, Bob Irvin and wife Joni of Mountain View, Missouri, and John Irvin and wife Barbie of Republic, Missouri; eight grandchildren, David Irvin Jr., Chris Irvin, Matthew Irvin, James Irvin, Jacob Irvin, Rachel Irvin, Andy Irvin and Tonya Prost; 15 great-grandchildren; and three siblings, L.D. Irvin, Jewell White and Hazel Baugus.
Jack wore many hats in his 90 years. He was first a farmer working the land. He went on to be a principal teaching six different grades. He wanted to serve the Lord and he later became a Methodist Church minister for 37 years, serving as many as five churches at once. After Jack retired he went back to farming, he was an avid gardener all his life. He also loved woodworking.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9, at Yarber Mortuary Chapel, Mountain View, Missouri. Interment was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mountain View, Missouri. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
