Charlyne Williams (12-10-17) service 12-12-17

Charlyne Byram Williams, of Savannah, departed this life on Sunday, Dec. 10, at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 12 days.
She was born in Belmont, Mississippi, on Dec. 28, 1928, the daughter of the late Charlie and Beady Allen Byram. On May 16, 1947, she was united in marriage to Herbert Elvin Williams, who preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 2004.
Charlyne was “Miss Mimi” to many children she cared for after retiring from School Food Service Management.  She was a lifelong member of East End United Methodist Church. Charlyne enjoyed collecting birdhouses, antiquing, making pottery and ceramics, and restoring furniture. She was very devoted to her family, and loved bird watching with her grandkids and teaching them about nature.
She is survived by her children, K.F. Williams and her husband Doug Vaughn of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Beth Douglas and her husband, John of Brooker, Florida, Susan Clarke and her husband Jerry of Savannah and Herbert Williams II and his wife Amber Storey Knight of Jackson, Tennessee; grandchildren, Michael Douglas, Emily Clarke Dunbar, Jonathan Douglas, Joseph Williams, Sarah Williams Kolb, Joshua Clarke and Evan Williams; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Cary of Savannah.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rachel Byram Bradford; and brothers, Rex Byram, Kenneth Charles (K.C.) Byram, Hoover Byram and Marion (Bucky) Byram.
Services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Joshua Clarke and Jerry Clarke officiating. Burial followed inMemory Gardens at Savannah.
