Tootsie Young, 95, of Savannah, died on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Leonard and Maime Welch Crotts. She was united in marriage to L.V. Young, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Young attended church at Old Town Full Gospel Church. She had worked for Brown Shoe Company, C&M Cleaners, Savannah Cleaners and Sinclair’s Cafe. But most of all she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her children, Wallace Young of Eads, Tennessee, Marilyn Hill, Rabon Young, Billy Young, Carolyn Holcombe, Doug Young, Neva Ireland, Bruce Young, all of Savannah and Charlotte Nance of Clifton; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Baskins of Savannah.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Alton Young and Danny Young; daughter, Shirley Ables; granddaughter; and brothers, Warren G. Crotts, L.C. Crotts and Billy Crotts.
Services were held on Friday, Dec. 1, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Larry Paul Rich and Elvin Willard officiating. Burial followed in Campground United Methodist Church at Savannah.
