Thomas Ward (11-26-17) service 11-29-17
Thomas L.J. Ward, of Adamsville, was born in Hardin County on Feb. 14, 1928, the son of the late Frank and Alley Seaton Ward. On Sept. 17, 1955, he was united in marriage to Annie Pearl Qualls, who survives.
Thomas departed this life on Sunday, Nov. 26, at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 12 days.
Thomas attended Cherry Grove Pentecostal Church in Milledgeville. He worked at ITT Phone Company in Corinth, Mississippi for 24 years. He enjoyed working and outside work, especially gardening.
In additon to his wife of 62 years, Thomas is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Byrd and husband Steve of Midland, Texas and Donna Featherstone and husband George of Savannah; sisters, Hazel Benson and Nollie Ray, both of Savannah; seven grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great -great-grandchild.
Along with his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Jaggars; brothers, James Ward, Earl Ward and Harold Ward; and his sisters, Anna Lee Randleas and Wilma Martin.
Services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Kenneth Fields and Barron Martin officiating. Burial followed in Hollands Creek Cemetery at Savannah.
