Ed Gibson, of Sardis, was born in Shelby County, Tennessee, on July 12, 1935, the son of the late Albert Edward and Velma Gibson.
On March 10, 1960, he was united in marriage to Pearlie Jean Hopper, who survives.
Mr. Gibson served his country in the United States Air Force.  Mr. Gibson was self employed as a tool and dye designer for 30 to 40 years. He enjoyed working on different projects.  Mr. Gibson enjoyed a challenge for something that could not be repaired, he would find a way to repair it. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Saltillo. 
Mr. Gibson departed this life on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the age of 82 years, 4 months and 2 days.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, Jean, he is survived by one daughter, Sharon Gibson Beetem of Alabaster, Alabama; two grandchildren, Joshua and Lucas Beetem; one sister, Otis Mullins of Lewisville, Mississippi; and one brother-in-law, Carl Hopper of Nashville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Dixon and Clara Mullins; and three brothers, Al, Richard and Fred Gibson.
Services were held on Saturday, Nov. 25, at 1 p.m., at Hurricane Primitive Baptist Church in Sardis with Tommy Crocker officiating. Burial followed in Hurricane Cemetery at Sardis.
