Jerry Gibbs (8-27-17) service 9-1-17

Rev. Jerry L. Gibbs, of Qulin Missouri, formerly of Crump, was born on Aug. 20, 1946, the son of the late John Elmer and Paralee Mary Scott Gibbs. He married Alice Frazier Gibbs, who preceded him in death on Jan. 9, 2007. Rev. Jerry later married Versie Louise Mounce Gibbs on Aug. 18, 2007, who survives.
Rev. Jerry departed this life on Sunday, Aug. 27, at the age of 71 years and 7 days.
Rev. Jerry attended Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He worked in ministry for more than 50 years and was a pastor for more than 25 years. Rev. Jerry was the pastor for River Heights Pentecostal Church for 16 of those years. He enjoyed playing washboard and spending time with his grandchildren. Rev. Jerry was a meat cutter, woodworker and an excellent cook that loved his family and the Lord.
In addition to his wife, Rev. Jerry is survived by his sons, Michael Gibbs and wife Heather of Adamsville, and James Barks of Rector, Arkansas; a daughter, Amanda Thurman; and grandchildren, Nathaniel Gibbs, Rebekah Gibbs, Samuel Gibbs, Charles Barks and Glen Thurman.
Along with his first wife and parents, Rev. Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Gibbs.
Services were held on Friday, Sept. 1, at 11 a.m., at River Heights Pentecostal Church in Crump with Michael Gibbs and William  Kirkman officiating. Burial followed in Henry Cemetery at Corinth, Mississippi.
