Pauline Rich (8-19-17) service 8-20-17

Pauline Higgins Rich, of Savannah, departed this life on Saturday, Aug. 19, at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 22 days.
She was born in Waterloo, Alabama, on Sept. 28, 1925, the daughter of the late Joseph “Duce” and Martha Scott Higgins. On Aug. 29, 1949, she was united in marriage to Otis Rich, who preceded her in death on June 5, 1986.
Pauline was a member of East End United Methodist Church since 1954 and retired from Brown Shoe Company. She liked to mow the yard, was an excellent caretaker to others, and loved to go to the Smoky Mountains.
She is survived by her niece, Sandra Pendley of Savannah; great-nieces, Michelle Reynolds and Susan Horton; great-nephews, Joel, Jeff and Steven Southern; and a special friend, Stella Blair.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lula Higgins Hatcher; and a niece, Pauletta Hatcher Southern.
Services were held on Sunday, Aug. 20, at 3 p.m., at the Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Robert Sadler and Thad Calton officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens at Savannah.
