Hayes Hargis (8-15-17) service 8-23-17

A final salute to Air Force Veteran, Hayes Douglas Hargis, who passed away unexpectedly of a heart condition in his home on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at age 67.
He was preceded in death by his father, Randall Douglas Hargis; his mother, Irene Jones Hargis; and brother, Danny Hargis.
His survivors include his wife, Neda Chester Hargis of Savannah; sister, Nancy Hargis Peterson of Sarasota, Florida; and sons, Douglas Hargis of Dallas, Texas, Dennis Hargis and wife Sarah of San Antonio, Texas, Brent Hargis and wife Syndee of Vicksburg, Mississippi; stepdaughters, Laura Camille Chester of Murfreesboro, Stephanie Chester Bogue and husband Jason of Franklin, Tennessee; and seven grandchildren, Paige Hargis, Summer Hargis, Ciara Hargis, Jessica Hargis, Chloe Hargis, Brayden Hargis and Bryson Hargis.
Hayes was a big hearted man and had a deep patriotic passion and love for this great country. He served in the Air Force, was a former policeman, railroad employee, and self-employed for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, animals, motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends. His quick wit and sense of humor were one of his many loveable traits that will be missed so much.
Graveside services were conducted on Wednesday, Aug. 23, at 10 a.m., at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville.
