Leon Stanfield (7-27-17) service 7-30-17

Leon Stanfield, 79, of Savannah, died on Thursday, July 27, in Savannah, after a short battle with cancer.
He was born in Hardin County, son of the late Murell and Kate Phillips Stanfield.
Mr. Stanfield served in the United States Army from April 1958 to March 1961. He was known in Hardin County as a plumber and electrician, as well as the bass voice of the Crusaders gospel quarter.
He is survived by his wife  Joan Blackwelder Stanfield; his daughter, Lori Stanfield of Caldwell, Idaho; sisters, Peggy Stricklin and Becky Shutt, both of Savannah; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Frank of Savannah.
Services were held on Sunday, July 30, at Shackelford Funeral Directors with Tony Polk and Johnny Burns officiating. Burial followed in New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery at Savannah.
