John Baker (7-23-17)

John Wrendall Baker, 73, of Savannah, passed away on Sunday, July 23.
He was born in Scottsburg, Indiana, on April 21, 1944, son of the late Cleo Irving and Edith Lorena Love Baker. He was joined in marriage on Nov. 7, 1981, to Shirley Hammitt,  who survives.
John was retired from PCA after 46 years. He was a Navy veteran and a member of Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening, golf, riding his motorcycle, watcing his grandsons in the marching band and his granddaughter’s artwork. He had a new Bassett Hound puppy, Alexander “Hamilton,” who he was crazy about.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Shirley Baker; daughter, Krista Lynn Neidert and husband Jay; three grandchildren, Bailey Grace, “Jake” and John David Neidert; and son, Joe Baker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Baker; sister, Mary Lou Baker Dickerson; and daughter, Kimberly Anne Bailey.
A private memorial service will be planned for family at a later date.
