James Truman Prince departed this life on Monday, July 17, at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 25 days. 
He was born in Savannah on Nov. 22, 1932, the son of the late Ernest Edward and Irene Wood Prince. On March 11, 1960, he was united in marriage to Ina Lou Franks, who preceded him in death on Sept. 6, 1986.
James served his country honorably during the Korean War in the United States Army. He worked as a construction civil superintendent for 35 years all across the Eastern United States for TVA and Eichleay Corporation. He made many lifelong friends and had many great memories. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a two time past governor and the last remaining charter member of Savannah Moose Lodge. James cared deeply for his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, David Prince and wife Dianne; granddaughter, Taylor Prince; brother, Charles Prince; honorary daughters, Kim Shelby, Becky Berry and Fallon Thompson; and a river family that loved and cared deeply for him.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Steve Prince; and a brother, Joe Prince.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, July 20, at Memory Gardens in Savannah with Mitch Boulton officiating.
