JoAnn Dowdell (6-28-17) service 7-1-17

JoAnn Aebersold Dowdell, 82, of Savannah, died on Wednesday, June 28.
She was born in Rock Haven, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Johnny and Elsie Keith Aebersold. She was united in marriage to George Dowdell, who survives.
Mrs. Dowdell had lived in Muldraugh, Kentucky, where she had played for a women’s softball league and was a member of the Muldraugh Baptist Church. She later moved to Savannah and owned Savannah Transmission.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, George Dowdell of Savannah; daughters, Sue Ann McNally Wilson of Dansville, Kentucky, Della May McNally Porter of Gatesville, Texas, Etta Ruth McNally Ludwig of Atlanta, Georgia, and Sandra Marie McNally Mullins of Savannah; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren;  brother, Lonnie “Gabby” Aebersold of California; and sisters, Wanda Sadler and Barbara Aebersold, both of Kentucky.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren; and brother, Paul Aebersold.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, July 1, at Mt. Hermon Cemetery in Savannah with Brent Colley officiating.
