Mary Ruth Mills (6-16-17) service 6-19-17

Mary Ruth Holt Mills was born Aug. 21, 1931, and passed away peacefully on Friday, June 16, at her home.
Born in Clifton, she was the daughter of the late Ernest L. Holt and Dixie Lee Lipford. She was united in marriage to Estel Ray Mills on June 2, 1956.
Mary Ruth received her Masters Degree in education and was a teacher for 40 years.
She was also a member of the McNairy County Election Commission, Delta Kappa Gamma, volunteered at McNairy County Hospital, and had also been a member of First Baptist Church of Michie for many years.
She is survived by her husband Estel Ray Mills of Michie; two daughters, Donna Mills Hasty and husband Tim of Aiken, South Carolina; Melissa Mills Leatherwood and husband Tom of Arlington, Tennessee; two sons, Nelson Mills and wife Judy of New York, New York, and Kevin Mills of Michie; a sister, Linda Holt Stewart; 13 grandchildren, Austin Mills and wife Emily, Laura Beth Mills Jones and husband Brad, Erin Joehnk and husband Marc, Morgan Mills, Catherine Beck and husband Jerry, Erica Mills, Sarah Hasty, Hayley Mills, Celia Leatherwood, Hannah Leatherwood, Amanda Leatherwood, Mary Kate Leatherwood, Zoe Leatherwood; four great-grandchildren, Mary Carlyle Mills, Mary Corbin Beck, Libby Mills and Sanders Beck.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mills was predeceased by her brother, Ray Holt.
Services were held on Monday, June 19, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer with Ben Martin officiating. Burial followed in Pebble Hill Cemetery at Michie.
