Danny Petty (4-9-17) service 4-12-17

Danny Petty, of Savannah, was born on Nov. 23, 1950, the son of Barbara Faye Robertson and the late Vernal Buck Petty. On May 29, 1970, he married Kathy Ann Patterson, who survives. Danny departed this life on Sunday, April 9, at the age of 66 years, 4 months and 17 days.
Danny served his country in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1975. He was a member of Riverview Baptist Church, and was a member of the United Steel Worker Local 9923. Before retiring, Danny worked for PCA for 35 years where he was a crew leader in the power plant. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars, shooting guns and telling jokes. Danny loved playing with his grandkids, doing things for his kids, and going on vacations and to the flea market.
In addition to his wife, Danny is survived by his daughters, Mitzi Knight, Tandi Tilson and husband Shane, Traci Melson and husband Jimmie, and Marci Petty, all of Savannah; a son, Chipp Petty and wife Tabitha of Savannah; sisters, Deborah Pickens of Savannah and Wanda Erwin of Adamsville; his mother, Barbara Petty of Savannah; and grandchildren, Cade Knight, Aidan Melson, Sarah Katherine Tilson, Langdan Melson, Rylan Melson, Marianna Melson, Milo Petty, Matti Tilson and expecting one in May.
In addition to his father, Danny was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Bonee; and his grandchild, Reece Knight.
Services were held on Wednesday, April 12, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Allen Guyer officiating. Burial followed in  Memory Gardens at Savannah.
