Gene Stricklin (2-21-17) service 2-23-17

Gene Autry Stricklin, 78, of Savannah, died on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
He was the son of the late Charlie Ledford and Nora Viola Stricklin. He was united in marriage to Artie Mae Scott, who survives.
Mr. Stricklin was retired from Brown Shoe Company where he was a shoemaker. He was of Baptist belief.
Along with his wife Artie, he is survived by his daughters, Pamela Kelley of Decaturville, Tennessee, Margaret McFall of Lutts, Rebecca Shands of Lutts and Daphne Elzey ArmasPerez of Lexington, Alabama; sons, Norman Stricklin of Savannah and Marty Stricklin of Savannah; sisters, Jaqueline Franks and Peggy Shubert, both of Savannah; brother, Charles Stricklin of Savannah; and six grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Shands; sisters, Charlyne Stricklin and Lula Johnson; and brothers, Billy Thomas Stricklin, Bomar Stricklin and GW Stricklin.
Services were held on Thursday, Feb. 23, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with David Highland officiating. Burial followed in White’s Creek Cemetery at Savannah.
