Jim Young (2-10-17) service 2-15-17

Jim Young, of Counce, was born in Selmer on April 30, 1931. On Dec. 22, 2000, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Parrish, who survives.
Mr. Young was plant supervisor of Layne & Bowler in Memphis. He enjoyed in his spare time doing woodworking and working in his garden.  Mr. Young was of Baptist belief.
He departed this life on Friday, Feb. 10, at his residence in Counce at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 11 days.
In addition to his wife Mary Ann of 16 years, he is survived by one son, Greg Young of Florida; one stepson, Billy Beckham of Olive Branch, Mississippi; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren, Courtney Ghadimi and Mackenzie Beckham; one sister, Mamie Gilchrist of Selmer; two nephews, Wayne Elam of Selmer and Jimmy Young of Corinth, Mississippi.
Mr. Young was preceded in death by one daughter, Paula Young; and eight siblings.
Services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 1 p.m., at Counce First Baptist Church in Counce, Tennessee, with Randy Parrish officiating. Burial followed in Gravel Hill Cemetery at McNairy County.
