W.C. “Dub” Hamilton (2-2-17) service 2-5-17

W.C. “Dub” Hamilton, 88, of Savannah, died on Thursday, Feb. 2, in Savannah.
He was born in Decatur County, Tennessee, the son of the late Nora Hamilton. He was united in marriage to Peggy Jean Butler, who survives.
Mr. Hamilton was a retired towboat captain for Crounse Corporation in Paducah, Kentucky. He was member of Temple Baptist Church in Savannah.
In addition to his wife, Peggy of Savannah, he is survived by his daughter, Brenda Bain of Savannah; son, David Johnson of Decaturville, Tennessee; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, John D. Walker and Robert Walker; and sisters, Judy Walker, Anna Frances, Ann Howell, Mary Ellen Adkins, Mary Etta Creasy and Sue Evans.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Alice Hamilton; and a grandchild.
Services were held on Sunday, Feb. 5, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Otis Shutt officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens at Savannah.
