Jimmy Hardin (1-27-17) service 1-31-17

Jimmy Hardin was born March 11, 1944, the son of the late Billy Gipson and Mary Frances McCasland Hardin. He left this earth on Friday, Jan. 27, at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 16 days.
Jimmy worked as a towboat pilot for Conti-Carriers. He previously worked for the Altar Barge Company and Ingram. Jimmy loved country music, camping, cooking and Civil War history.
Jimmy is survived by his companion of 25 years, Jo Hazel Dickson; sons, Jeff Hardin and wife Starla of Columbia, Tennessee and Dewayne Hardin of Savannah; stepdaughters, Barbara Lackey of Florida, Beverly Jones and husband Charlie of Savannah and Belinda Dickson of Savannah; sisters, Phyllis Bullard and Regina Cromwell, both of Savannah; and grandchildren, Storie Hardin, Eli Hardin, Wes Hardin, Jake Hardin, Caylie Jones and Monica Lovelace.
Along with his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, Sammy Hardin; sister, Janice Davis; stepson, Mike “Doodle” Dickson; and grandparents, Charlie and Elizabeth Hardin and Adley and Madras McCasland.
Services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Bob Pickett and Jeff Hardin officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Carmel Cemetery Hardin County, at Savannah.
