Douglas Wolfe (1-11-17) service 1-13-17

Douglas Wolfe was born in Hardin County on Dec. 21, 1927, the son of the late Walker and Minnie Moore Wolfe.
On Dec. 24, 1952, he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Casteel, who preceded her husband in death on June 26, 1987.
Mr. Wolfe served his country in the United State Army.  He was a self-employed truck driver and did farming also. 
Mr. Wolfe departed this life on Wednesday, Jan. 11, in Savannah, at the age of 89 years and 21 days.
He is survived by his children, Debbie Russell, Phillip Wolfe and his wife Belinda, all of Savannah, and Kristi Blakney and her husband Ritchie of Michie; six grandchildren, Magen and Cale Russell, Brandon and Dustin Wolfe, Kaleigh Haubrich and Rylee Blakney; five great-grandchildren, Cohen and Micah Russell, Bailey Wolfe, Kenlee and Sophie Haubrich; one brother, Billy Wolfe of Savannah; and one sister, Effie Jean Williams of Savannah.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Steve Russell.
Services were held on Friday, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Greg Young officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Hermon Cemetery at Savannah.
