Gary Franks (10-25-16) service 10-28-16

Gary Wade Franks, 66, of Savannah, died on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
 He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Granville and Polly Stricklin Franks. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Smith, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Franks had worked for the Hardin County Board of Education in maintenance and as a bus driver for 26 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the Forest Ridge Union Church.
He is survived by his children, Daniel Franks of Savannah, Rebecca Sanders of Stantonville,  Adam Franks of Savannah and Brandie Franks of Savannah; eight grandchildren; brothers, Maynard Franks and David Franks, both of Savannah; sisters, Peggy Stacks, Jeannie Cox, Penny Williams and Robin Rippie, all of Savannah.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a grandchild.
Services were held on Friday, Oct. 28, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Daniel Holt officiating. Burial followed in Sunny Hill Cemetery at Savannah.
