Richard “Rusty” Brewer (10-15-16) service 10-21-16

Richard “Rusty” Brewer, of Adamsville, was born in Savannah, on July 27, 1947, the son of the late Hershel Ray and Bernice Rhea Stanfill Brewer.
On July 30, 1965, he was united in marriage to Jimmie Elaine Davison, who preceded her husband in death on May 28, 2012.
Mr. Brewer or Rusty as everyone called him, graduated from Union University with a Bachelor of Science degree in health and physical education.  He was a retired teacher of health and physical education and coached basketball, football and baseball. He taught and coached at Spring Hill High School, Hampshire School, Hardin County Junior High, Hardin County High School and the old South Elementary School.  In his spare time Rusty enjoyed woodworking in his home shop, listening to music, watching sports and westerns and most of all enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He departed this life on Saturday, Oct. 15, at the age of 69 years, 2 months and 18 days.
Rusty is survived by his son, Mike Brewer and his wife Melissa of Selmer; granddaughter, Morgan Brewer of Selmer; two sisters, Doris Perkins and her husband Harry and Janette Brewer, all of Savannah.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Annette Brewer.
Services were held on Friday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Adamsville with Derek Bodiford officiating. Burial followed in Adamsville Cemetery.
