Carolyn Hamilton (10-19-16) service 10-22-16

Carolyn Shutt Hamilton was born on Oct. 3, 1931, in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Robert “Bob” Taylor Shutt and Bernice Irene Basey Shutt.
On May 13, 1951, she was united in marriage to Perry Wayne Hamilton, who preceded his wife in death on Jan. 22, 2004.
Mrs. Hamilton owned and operated Carolyn’s Drapery Den, where she worked sewing custom draperies and decor. She lived in the Cravens area in Savannah, known as the “Fork.” In her younger years, she participated in the Home Demonstration Club. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Savannah for more than 60 years. Carolyn served in Cumberland Presbyterian Women’s Ministry locally and was a General Assembly delegate and officer.
Carolyn Hamilton departed this life on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the age of 85 years, 16 days.
She is survived by her three children, Deborah Jan Clayton, Perry Mack Hamilton and Bobbie Kay Bryan; sister, Doris Marie Ray; six grandchildren, Alaina Jan Clayton Gray, Jacob Hunter Hamilton, Emily Kay Clayton, Caroline Elizabeth Hamilton, Taylor Jordan Bryan and Thomas Hamilton Bryan; and three great-grandchildren, Charlotte Elaine Hamilton, Amelia Jan Gray and Cordelia Rose Hamilton.
Services were held on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 11 a.m., at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church  in Savannah with Helen Hamilton officiating. Burial  followed in Mt. Hermon Cemetery at Savannah.
