Ruby Adams (10-4-16) service 10-8-16

Ruby N. Gray Adams departed this life on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the age of 78 years, 10 months, and 9 days.
She was born in Hardin County on Nov. 25, 1937, the daughter of John and Mary Hames Gray. On Sept. 1, 1952, she was united in marriage to Dillard Franklin Adams, who preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 2008.
Ruby was the owner and operator of Adam’s Bait Shop. She attended Hopewell Baptist Church and was previously a member of Pyburn Union Church, where her husband preached for more than 15 years. Ruby was an Eastern Star and enjoyed antiques and working in her flower garden.
She is survived by her children, Deborah Adams Ball of Savannah and Christy Adams Landrum and husband Curt of Paris, Illinois; sisters, Robbie Hosea of Savannah and Dorothy Wolfe of Savannah; grandchildren, Jeremy Wadkins, Christen Swan, Colton Landrum and Coy Landrum; and a great-grandchild, Addyson Grace Wadkins.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Dillard Franklin Adams; parents, John and Mary Gray; son, Johnny Adams; brothers, Hobert Gray, Johnny Gray, Dewey Gray and James Gray; sisters, Gladys Jerrolds and Blanche Young; and her stepfather, Elijah Gray. 
Services were held on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Billy Joe Kennedy officiating. Burial followed in Pyburn Cemetery at Savannah.
