Thomas Irvin Jr. (9-27-16) service 10-1-16

Thomas Irvin Jr., 91, of Savannah, died on Tuesday, Sept. 27, in Jackson, Tennessee.
He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Thomas Irvin Sr. and Rosie Johnson Irvin. He was united in marriage to Ethel White Irvin, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Irvin served his country in the United States Army. He worked as custodian for 25 years at Suntrust Bank. He was a member of Love Tabernacle in Savannah.
He is survived by his son, Joel Irvin of Savannah; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Julia Richmond of Savannah; and two brothers, David Irvin of Savannah, and Charles Irvin of Newark, Ohio.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Irvin and Edward Irvin; and five brothers, Leo, Robert, Clifford, Amos and William R.B. Irvin.
Services were held on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Henderson Hawkins Jr. and Prentiss Burdine officiating. Burial followed in Corinth National Cemetery at Corinth, Mississippi.
