Frederick Austin (9-18-16) service 9-20-16
Frederick Junior Austin, 79, of Savannah, died on Sunday, Sept. 18, at Savannah Healthcare.
He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Clarence and Rachel Ellen Qualls Austin. He was united in marriage to Peggy Joyce Tidwell, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Austin worked for Garan Manufacturing for 37 years and also had worked at Savannah Foods. He attended Tennessee School for the Blind. He was of the Pentecostal belief.
He is survived by his daughter, Paula Ann Austin of Savannah; one grandson; four great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; one brother, Ray Austin of Savannah; and four sisters, Elizabeth Lambert of Savannah, Sue Martin and Debra Morey, both of Sardis, and Eva Cotner of Counce.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Austin; two sisters, Wilma Lambert and Bernice Bretherick; and five brothers, Hubbert, Wilburn, Curtis, Robert and William Austin.
Services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Chad Balentine officiating. Burial followed in Hollands Creek Cemetery at Savannah.
