Lelia Mae Johnson-Sparks age 89, of Savannah, died on Saturday, Sept. 3.
Mrs. Sparks worked and retired from Angelica. She was also a homemaker, a bus driver and cook. She was a member of Nebo Tabernacle Church.
She is survived by her husband, Syvoid W. Sparks; five children, Syvoid Sparks of Sandusky, Ohio, Annie Batson of Nashville, Geraldine Blake of Nashville, Vera Ann Snelson of Centreville, Alabama, and Lavona Jackson of Nashville; one brother, Harold Johnson of Sandusky, Ohio; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Vera and Daniel Johnson; brother, Floyd Johnson; and sister, Pauline Fuller.
A graveside service was held on Friday, Sept. 9, at the Sparks Family Cemetery in Savannah with Rev. Battle Beasley officiating.
