Dr. Nathan R. Walley, 82, passed away Friday, Sept. 9, at Baptist Hospital East, after complications from surgery.
Dr. Nathan Walley was a practicing dentist in Memphis for almost 40 years. He was a past president of the Memphis Dental Society. He was also a published writer and talented artist. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Dr. Walley was preceded in death by a son, Mark Nathan Walley; his parents, Gavin and Doris Walley; and a sister, Sherian Sansom.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Donna Walley; two sons, Dr. Donald G. Walley and his wife Dr. Glenda Walley, and Michael C. Walley; three grandchildren, Jeremy, Justin and Michaela Walley; and one sister, Sandra DeRose.
A funeral service was held at First Baptist Church in Counce, at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, where he, his wife, and family are members. Graveside followed at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis on Poplar Avenue.
