Barney Harville Sr. (9-9-16) service 9-12-16
Barney Frank Harville Sr., 85, of Clifton, died on Friday, Sept. 9.
He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Pascal and Jullie Griffin Harville. He was united in marriage to the former Lady Ruth Dickey who preceded him in death.
Prior to residing in Clifton, Mr. Harville spent most of his life in Indiana, living in New Carlisle and working in Michigan City. His places of employment included Dewger Products and Pullman Standard in Michigan City before working as a welder with Bethleham Steel in Burns Harbor, Indiana. His love of farming led to his 20 year ownership of a farm in LaPorte City, Indiana. He was a member of Clifton Revival Center in Clifton.
He is survived by four daughters,Barbara Smith of New Carlisle, Indiana, Karen Degnegaard of Jackson, Tennessee, Shirley Keck of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, and Annette Whaler of Ocala, Florida; six sons, Mike Harville and Mitch Harville both of Clifton, Mark Harville of Anderson, Indiana, Allen Harville of Walcottville, Indiana, and Charles Harville and Barney Frank Harville Jr., both of Savannah; one sister, Gladys Bass of Dalton, Georgia; 32 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.
Other than his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Willard, Tommy, John, Aik, D.P., J.D. and David Harville; two sisters, Lucille Duckworth and Bernice Wilkerson; one grandson and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Monday, Sept. 12, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with J.P. Gillis and Shayne Riley officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Hermon Cemetery at Savannah.
