Louie Albert Winters, 85, of Counce, died on Tuesday, Aug. 30.
He was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, the son of the late Herman and Rosie Lee Smith Winters. He was united in marriage to Ruby Faye Freeman, who survives.
Mr. Winters was a member of Bruton Branch Baptist Church. He was a self-employed contractor, specializing in painting, carpentry and plumbing.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Faye Winters of Counce; children, Sheena Sharp of Azle, Texas, Debra Groesbeck of Boyd, Texas, Huie Winters of Bridgeport, Texas, Dewey Winters and Louie Winters, both of Fort Worth, Texas; stepchildren, Wayne Beck of Counce, Joyce Park of Iuka, Mississippi; brother, Gayland Winters of Azle, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Viola Winters; sister, Ruthie Earley; and brothers, Mutt Winters and Bill Winters.
Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 3, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Scott Stout officiating. Burial followed in Center Hill Cemetery at Counce.
