Wayne Casteel (8-28-16) service 8-31-16

Wayne Casteel, 76, of Savannah, died Sunday, Aug. 28.
He was born in Savannah on July 18, 1940, the son of the late Lois Casteel and Velma Clement Casteel Barlow.
Mr. Casteel served his country in the United States Army.  He worked as a supervisor for Tennessee Department of Transportation and also had worked for King Norman Incorporated in Corinth, Mississippi. He was a long-time community writer for The Courier, writing Robertson’s Chapel news.  He was a member of Robertson Chapel United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his children, Rita Stephens, Johnny Casteel and Kathy Davis, all of Savannah; three grandchildren; one sister, Frankie Linville of Olive Hill; and two brothers, Wheeler Ray Casteel of Lavinia, Tennessee and Ricky Vance Casteel of Lexington, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ellen Wolfe; and two brothers, Hadron and Hassell Casteel.
Services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 31, at Robertson Chapel United Methodist Church in Savannah with Jason Estes and Jay Wolfe officiating. Burial followed in Mount Hermon Cemetery at Hardin County.
