J.D. Kelley (8-1-16) service 8-6-16

J.D. Kelley, of Savannah, formerly of Clifton, was born May 9, 1935, in Linden, Tennessee, the son of the late Willie Lee and Carrie Lee Hickerson Kelley.
He was united in marriage to Rachel Hime in 1965 and she preceded him in death on Nov. 7, 2007.
Mr. Kelley had worked as a pipe line installer, deck hand, commercial fisherman, farmer and gardner and was baptized in 2012. He served in the United States Navy and departed this life on Monday, Aug. 1, at ECM Hospital in Florence, Alabama at the age of 81 years, 2 months, 23 days.
Survivors, grandson, Gregory Joshua Kelley, Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister, Nettie McCutcheon, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Allen Kelley.
Services were Saturday, Aug. 6, 11 a.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, with Billy Wright, David Eliff, Ricky Mitchell and Terry Baker officiating. Burial with military rites was in Steele Cemetery, Clifton, with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing.
