Billie Diane Davis, 67, of Counce, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, July 29, at her residence.
She was born in Corinth, Mississippi on Jan. 6, 1949, to the late Hurley Counce and Frances Johnson Counce and graduated in 1967 from Southside High School in Counce. Diane was a member of New Chapel Free Will Baptist Church where she served as youth leader and was the founder and leader of the Women’s Auxilary D.O.L.L.S club. She was also a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and the Forked Deer Wings Motorcycle Club.
A celebration of Diane’s life was held at 2 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 1, at New Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Paul Childers. Interment followed in Center Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers included Richard Childers, Stephen Lee, Oliver “Big O” Welch, Tony Smith, Reginald Seymour and Brett Rinks. Honorary pallbearers include Cliff Porter and Eddie Griffin. Magnolia Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
Diane is survived by her husband of 39 years, Avery Lee Davis; her mother, Frances Johnson Counce of Counce; her sons, Tony Mathes of Counce and Chris Davis and wife Chasity of Savannah; her step-son, Charles Davis and wife Mary of Swedeburg, Missouri; her grandchildren, Katie Lynn Davis and Jack Davis; her brother, Larry Counce of Counce; her sister, Trudi McClain of Cumming, Georgia; her special friend who was very dear to her, Penny Perez; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hurley Counce.
