Hugh William Kelly was born on March 15, 1936, in Savannah, the son of the late Jack William and Ocie Francis Fowler Kelly. On May 31, 1959, he was united in marriage to Frankie Lee Marley, who survives.
Mr. Kelly worked at Savannah Heating and Air for 40 years. He attended church at Robertson’s Chapel and lived in Hardin County all of his life. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, landscaping, fishing, cooking fish and grilling. He loved to argue over who would get the biggest piece of pie. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and family.
Hugh William Kelly departed this life on Friday, July 22, in Savannah, at the age of 80 years, 4 months, 7 days.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frankie Lee Kelly of Savannah; daughter, Brenda Lee Reed of Savannah; two sons, Randy Hugh Kelly of Savannah and Michael Earl Kelly of Southaven, Mississippi; and two grandchildren, Kelly Nicole Reed and Randy Hugh Kelly Jr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Francis Onita Logue, Jean Dale Hardin and Jacqueline Wolfe.
Memorial donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, New York 10018.
Services were held on Sunday, July 24, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Jason Estes and Jay Wolfe officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Hermon Cemetery at Savannah.
