Warren McCain (7-1-16) service 7-3-16

Warren Gene McCain departed this life on Friday, July 1, at Park Rest Nursing Home in Savannah, at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 13 days.
Warren was born in Hardin County on Feb. 18, 1938, the son of the late Bennie and Bertie Lee Sagely McCain.
On July 31, 1975, he was united in marriage to Ethel Gower, who preceded him in death on May 31, 2016.
He retired from US Steel in Gary, Indiana, and had also worked at Walmart in the paint department, where he was known by everyone affectionately as the “paint man.” He loved fishing, camping, bird watching and spending time with his dog Harley.
He is survived by one daughter, Vicky Wilkerson and her husband Terry of Michie; three stepdaughters, Theresa Hommel and companion Charles Hale of Portage, Indiana, Carol Ann Preszchala and her husband Christopher of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Brenda Sue Kulp of Spotsylvania, Virginia; one brother, Eddie McCain of Clarksville, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Melody Dixon and her husband Brian, and Matthew McCain Wilkerson; five step-granchildren, Jennifer, Elisa, Robert, Anna Maria and Tony; and two great-grandchildren, Mattie Denise Brown and Warren O’Neal Dixon.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Warren Gene “Buddy” McCain Jr.; one stepdaughter, Wilma Phillips; and three sisters, Ardean Lovin, Hannah Littlejohn and Patsy McGee.
Services were held on Sunday July 3, at Pisgah Cemetery in Michie with Josh Franks officiating.
