Donald Howard (6-2-16) service 6-25-16

Donald Porter Howard, 70, of Clifton, died on Thursday, June 2, at his home.
He was born in Nashville, the son of the late W.S. and Mary Elizabeth “Tootsie” Crotts Howard. 
Mr. Howard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served as city manager of Clifton for several years and during his tenure helped with many city improvements including the City River Park.  He worked as a counselor at CCA in Clifton until his retirement.
He coached Little League and Babe Ruth baseball teams.
He is survived by his two brothers, Bill of Clifton and Gene of Bath Springs, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Janet Smith Foundation in Clifton,  the Andrew Talley Scholarship Fund in Clifton or the Butterfly Foundation in Waynesboro.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 25, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Bobby Pickett officiating.
