Nancy Martin (6-7-16) service 6-9-16
Nancy Kay Bivens Martin, 68, of Savannah, died on Tuesday, June 7, at her residence.
She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Rural Doran and Ruby Jewel Powell Bivens. She was united in marriage to Harold D. Martin, who survives.
Mrs. Martin worked as a seamstress for Garan Manufacturing for five years and also had worked for Walmart in Savannah for one year. She was a member of Morris Chapel Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, Harold, she is survived by her two children, Patricia Kay Carter and Daryl D. Martin, both of Savannah; two grandchildren; three sisters, Carolyn Faye Doster of Sardis, Mary Jo Hughes of Milledgeville and Sherry Lee Holland of Sardis; two brothers, Gerald Dean Bivens of Sardis and Thomas Edward Bivens of Savannah.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Ann Bivens and Maxine Dickson; and two brothers, Bobby Gene Bivens and Jimmy Randolph Bivens.
Memorial donations may be made to Morris Chapel Baptist Church
Services were held on Thursday, June 9, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Mike Moore and Benny Taylor officiating. Burial followed in Milledgeville Cemetery.
