Maxine Horner (6-2-16) service 6-6-16

Maxine Horner, 89, of Savannah, died Thursday, June 2.
She was born in Greenwood, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Frank and Grace Thomason Hill. She was united in marriage to Howard Horner, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Horner was the owner and operator of Horner’s Florist for 25 years.  She also had worked for Brown Shoe in Selmer, Dyer and Savannah.  She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Savannah.
She is survived by her two sons, Frank Horner of Memphis and Dr. David Horner of Many, Louisiana; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Catherine Goodman of Booneville, Mississippi.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Francis Taylor; and one brother, James Alfred Hill.
Memorial donations can be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 300 Tennessee Street, Savannah, Tennessee 38372.
Services were held on Monday, June 6, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Helen Hamilton officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens at Savannah.
