Arvis Weeks (4-21-16) service 4-25-16

Arvis Nelson Weeks was born July 6, 1939, in McNairy County, the son of the late Alfie and Mary Harris Weeks.
He was united in marriage to Jane Milford on Aug. 31, 1963, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. They were married for 52 years, 7 months, and 21 days.
Arvis served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Bad Kissing Don, Germany. After service to his country, he worked as a farmer and did logging for many people including himself.
Arvis was Baptist in belief and always placed high value on honesty, integrity and family. He was a great provider for his family and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who called upon him. He loved laughter, music, and could always bring a smile to everyone around him.
Arvis departed this life on Thursday, April 21, at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis Trauma ICU after suffering a severe head injury while working on his log truck.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Weeks; his children, Carol Harville and husband Jerry, Keith Weeks and wife Kelly, Bryan Weeks and wife Teresa, Tammy Bates and husband David, Eric Weeks and wife Kelly, and Jimmy Bearden; five grandchildren, Rebecca Weatherly and husband Terry, Jason Harville, Justin Harville and wife Hannah, Kerby Harville, Brooklyn Bates; three great-grandchildren, Hannah and Jake Weatherly, Lacey Pace; three sisters, all from Adamsville, Virginia Finley, Freeda Bricker and husband Don, Brenda Pickens; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Weeks was preceded in death by five brothers, Welbert, Elvin, Doyle, Shannon and Waylon Weeks.
Services were held on Monday, April 25, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Adamsville with Tanner Garrison and Tim Carothers officiating. Burial followed in Mars Hill Cemetery at Adamsville. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer in charge of arrangements.
