Gene Krotchko (4-6-16) service 4-9-16

Gene G. Krotchko was born Nov. 14, 1929, in Norristown, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Paul and Salome Martha Homiak Krotchko.
On Oct. 2, 2011, he was united in marriage to Jayne Presley, who survives. 
Mr. Krotchko was retired from the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country for 25 years achieving the rank of Tech Sgt.  He served in both World War II and the Korean Wars and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. After his military service, he worked for 15 years at Alabama Power Company. He attended Michie First Baptist Church in Michie.  He was a member of The VUMS (Volunteer Underage Military Service), General McArthurs’ Honor Guard and the American Legion. Mr. Krotchko was a HAM Radio operator and enjoyed playing the guitar.
Mr. Krotchko departed this life on Wednesday, April 6, at the age of 86 years, 4 months, 23 days. 
He is survived by his wife Jayne Presley Krotchko of Michie; two daughters, Susan Katharine Ayres and husband J.W. of Cave Cove, Arizona, Heidi Marie Langston and husband Roger of Huntsville, Alabama; four grandchildren, David Marvin Ayres, Kristina Diana Ayres, Catherine Paige Langston, Peyton Nicole Langston; a stepdaughter, Emily Mychele Flaherty of Chelsea, Alabama; two step grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Flaherty and Megan Leslie Flaherty.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Krotchko was preceded in death by a sister, Lila Rose Minishak and his first wife Katharina Schleich Krotchko.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 9, at 4:30 p.m., at Michie First Baptist Church in Michie with Ben Martin officiating. Burial followed in Lebanon Cemetery at Michie.
