Dale Gean (3-14-16) service 3-17-16

Dale Gean, of Savannah was born on July 13, 1955, in Hardin County, the son of the late James Gloyd and Margaret Louise Dailey Gean. On Aug. 27, 1976, he was united in marriage to Janet Fulmer, who survives.
Dale had worked at Hardin Farmers Co-op and had been a deputy for The Hardin County Sheriff’s Department. He was the owner and operator of Dale’s Store since 1988. Dale was an active member of Second Creek Church of Christ, where he served as an elder for several years. He was also a member of the Hardin County Ambulance Committee. Dale helped establish the Walnut Grove Fire Department where he served as District II Chief and first responder for more than 30 years. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and go the extra mile. Dale was a loving and devoted husband, Daddy and Papa. 
He departed this life on Monday, March 14, in Savannah, at the age of 60 years, 8 months and 1 day.
In addition to his wife, Janet, to whom he was married for 39 years, he is survived by his son, Michael Dale Gean and his significant other, Keri Dodd of Lexington, Alabama; and his daughter, Tracy Gean Highland and her husband Jamie of Savannah; five grandchildren, Baylee Gean, Dylan Gean and Garret Gean, all of Lexington, Alabama and Chloie Highland and Cole Highland, both of Savannah; five brothers, Rickey Gean and his wife Susan, Dannie Gean and his wife MaryAnn, Donnie Gean and his wife Shelia and Mackie Gean and his wife Linda, all of Savannah, and Thomas Gean and his wife Beth of Florence, Alabama.
Dale is also survived by his special friends, R.L. Qualls, Sissy Hill and Shana Jones.
Services were held on March 17, at 3 p.m., at Second Creek Church Of Christ in Savannah, with Danny Pettus, David Highland and Chance Steen officiating. Burial followed in the family cemetery at Savannah.
