Frenchie Williamson (2-6-16) service 2-13-16

Frenchie J. “Baby Jay” Williamson, 68, of Savannah, died on Saturday, Feb. 6.
He was born in Jackson, Tennessee the son of Isaac and Myrtle Atwater Williamson who died when he was young. He was raised by his uncle and aunt, Kermit and Leone Atwater. He was united in marriage to Dineta Bumpus, who survives.
Mr. Williamson served his country in the United States Army. He was a drug counselor for Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. He had also been employed with Wyeth Pharmaceutical, Monsanto and TVA. He was a member of Hurts Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Jackson, Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife, Dineta Williamson of Savannah; sisters, Gladys Frierson of Jackson, Tennessee, Ruby Bond of St. Louis, Missouri, and Rose Hunt of Jackson, Tennessee; and brother, Vernon Williamson of Sacramento, California.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Grace Cherry; brothers, Nolen Williamson, Bethel Williamson, and Lawrence “Candy Man” Williamson.
Services were held on Saturday, Feb. 13, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Gallian Fulton officiating.
