J.T. Petty (12-12-15) service 12-17-15

J.T. “Jake” Petty, 81, of Savannah, died Saturday, Dec. 12. in Savannah.
He was born in Wayne County, the son of the late Tom and Rosie Keele Petty.
Mr. Petty was a mail truck driver for P&E Trucking Company in Memphis for 10 years and he also had been a commercial musseler. He attended Bible Baptist Church in Savannah and First Assembly of God in Savannah.
He is survived by his children, Theresa Scates of Linden, Tennessee, Nancy Rogers of Guntown, Mississippi, Johnny Petty of Savannah, Jerry Petty of Savannah, Martha Melton of Waynesboro and Pamela Earnhart of Waynesboro; 12 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; one sister, Grace White of Adamsville; one brother, Vernon Buck Petty of Savannah; and several stepbrothers and sisters.
Mr. Pettys is also survived by the mother of his children, Phyllis Petty of Savannah.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Services will be held today, Thursday, Dec. 17, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah. Burial will follow in Wesley’s Chapel Church Cemetery at Savannah.
