Jo Ellen Pickett Johnson (10-25-15) service 10-28-15

Jo Ellen departed this life on Sunday, Oct. 25, at the age of 67 years.
She was born in Florence, Alabama, on May 18, 1948, to the late Joe and Martha Rinks Pickett of Clifton.
Jo Ellen graduated from Frank Hughes School in Clifton in 1966, then went to Union University where she received her teaching degree. She then went to Ripley, Tennnessee, and taught in the Lauderdale and Tipton County school system for the next 30 years.
Jo Ellen met and married the late Andrew V. Johnson III (Andy) on Aug. 8, 1972. They had two children, Andrea King (Tim) and Andrew Neil Johnson (Ashley); and three grandchildren, Amelia Abigail Johnson (Abbie), Aaron and Layla King of Henning, Tennessee. She was also survived by one sister, Brenda Smith (Charles); two nephews, Jason and Cory Smith; and one great-niece, Autumn Smith, all of Saltillo.
Jo Ellen was of the Baptist faith. Services were Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home in Covington, Tennessee, with burial in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Henning, Tennessee. Rev. Jim Peyton of Asbury Methodist Church, where Jo Ellen had attended church for the last several years, was in charge of services, along with Bill McClain, Boy Scout leader. Jo Ellen was very active with the Boy Scouts of America. Boy Scouts served as pall bearers.
