Wilma Josephine Freshour, 85, of Savannah, died on Saturday, Nov. 14, in Savannah.
She was born in Waterloo, Alabama, the daughter of the late Marion Stanley and Valleree Joiner Scott. She was united in marriage to Lee Ander Freshour, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Freshour grew up in the Walnut Grove Community then moved to Mishawaka, Indiana where she worked for Uniroyal Rubber Corporation for 30 years. She was a member of Bumpus Creek Freewill Baptist Church and United Rubber Workers Union.
Mrs. Freshour is survived by her children, Barbara Strombeck of Pueblo, Colorado, Shirley Lumley of Rye, Colorado, Roger Freshour of Elkhart, Indiana, Mary Sue Thayer of Rye, Colorado and Patty Owle of Savannah; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; 10 siblings, Earnest Milford Scott of Mishawaka, Indiana, Doethis Virginia Lowe of the Walnut Grove Community, Birdie Mae Adams of Savannah, Melvin Edward Scott of Marion, Indiana, Elvin Ray Scott of the Walnut Grove Community, Reba Joyce Torres of Desert Hot Springs, California, Ruby Jo Gean of Cicero, Illinois, Donnie Earl Scott of Big Gap, Virginia, Carolyn Laverne Clay of Memphis and Curtis Lyndon Scott of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two children, Robbie Nell Freshour and Wilma Lee Myers; one brother, Kenneth Garland Scott; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held today, Thursday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Duwayne Pounds officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens at Savannah.
