Marvin Short (9-21-15) service 9-24-15

Marvin Short departed this life on Monday, Sept. 21, at the age of 91 years, 5 months, 25 days.
He was born in Coffee County, Tennessee on March 27, 1924, the son of the late Marvin Samuel and Mattie White Short. On May 14, 1989, he was united in marriage to Betty Jean Prince, who survives.
Marvin was the owner of Marvin Short & Son Foreign Car Service in Memphis. He was a member of Church on the Rock in Savannah. He loved the Lord, fishing, hunting and his family.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Short of Savannah; sons, James Short of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Steven Short of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Timothy Short, David Short and Wesley Short, all of Savannah; daughters, Gloria Jean Ortel and Ruth Short, both of Racine, Wisconsin, and Rhonda McKenzie of Parsons, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jonathan Short, Victor Short, Amber Short, Hannah Short, Sabrina Short, Mallory Short, Vera Short, Reane Short, Mark Bryan, Shane McKenzie, Siera Goodman and Susan Ortel; great-grandchild, Peyton Hunter McKenzie; and sister, Mary Elizabeth Daugherty of Haskell, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Short; daughter, Victoria Short; sister, Joy Davis; and brothers, Clark Short and Ted Short.
Services were held on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m., at Church on the Rock in Savannah with Larry Paul Rich and Rex Humphrey officiating. Burial  followed in Lebanon Cemetery at Saltillo.
