Billy Joe Ford (9-8-15) service 9-12-15

Billy Joe Ford, 79, of Morris Chapel, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, in Florence, Alabama.
He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Allen and Susie Austin Ford. He was united in marriage to Elaine Ford, who survives.
Mr. Ford was a self-employed logger and also had worked for Clayton Homes. He was a member of Walnut Grove Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife Elaine, he is survived by his children, Gerry Lynn Ford of Savannah,  Sherian Bates of Dickson, Tennessee, Janet Espey of Waterloo, Alabama, Tammy Ford of Savannah, and Billy Joe Ford Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; his stepchildren, Tammy Reaves of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Michele Hart and Jeffrey Barrier, both of Morris Chapel; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, George Mondel Ford of Savannah; and two sisters, Robbie Barrier of Savannah and Nell Benson of Florence, Alabama.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Elgean White and Betty Brewer; one brother, Jerry Ford; and one great-grandchild.
Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with David Baker and Greg Eaton officiating. Burial followed in Walnut Grove Cemetery at Savannah.
