Travis Godwin (8-8-15) service 8-10-15

Travis Godwin, 74, of Counce, died at home on Saturday, Aug. 8, following a long battle with ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
He was born in Oak Grove, Louisiana, to the late Gerald and Grace Munn Godwin.
Mr. Godwin was the owner of CIG Contractors, Inc. in Corinth, Mississippi, from 1976-2003, when he retired. He was a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Mississippi, and served on the board of directors for several years.
As an active member of First Baptist Church of Counce,  Travis chaired the Building and Grounds Committee. He also served as the first president of Shiloh Falls Home Owners Association, and continued to serve on the SFHA architectural committee for several years.
In addition to his wife, Anna Joyce Long Godwin, he is survived by his daughter, Debbie Spradlin of Greenville, Mississippi; son, Randall Godwin of Saltillo, Mississippi; two grandsons; two great-granddaughters; sisters, Geraldine Delancy of Shreveport, Louisiana, Charlotte Baxter and Lila Hargrove of West Monroe, Louisiana; brother, Neal Godwin of Guys; stepbrother, Randy Godwin of Mobile, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Monday, Aug. 10, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Rev. Jimmie McChristial officiating. Burial followed in White Sulphur Cemetery at Pickwick Dam.
