Shirley Hornbuckle (8-5-15) service 8-8-15

Shirley Dean Smith Hornbuckle, 79, of Selmer, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, in Selmer.
She was born in McNairy County, the daughter of the late Guy Phillip and Minola Pearl Dickey Smith. She was united in marriage to Manford Hornbuckle, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hornbuckle formerly worked in the garment industry. She was also employed for a time with Brown Shoe Company in Selmer and was a babysitter, but her primary role was that of a homemaker and caregiver for her family. She was a member of Stantonville Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for many years.
She is survived by four daughters, Linda Yochem of Warrenton, Virginia, Teressa Campbell of Etowah, Tennessee, Donna Stowell of Savannah and Amy Vaughn of Athens, Tennessee; two sons, Robert Hornbuckle of Adamsville and David Hornbuckle of Stantonville; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruby Jamerson of Etowah, Tennessee and Bonnie Ruth Freeman of Detroit, Michigan.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Hornbuckle; two sisters, Barbara June Goodman and Willa McKay Hornbuckle; and two brothers, William Douglas Smith and a brother who died in infancy.
Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 8, at Stantonville Cemetery in Stantonville, Tennessee, with David Harstin officiating. Burial followed in Stantonville Cemetery.
